There are two ways to subscribe to WafCharm: 1. directly from the WafCharm Console and 2. from the AWS Marketplace.
This article describes the procedure for subscribing to WafCharm from the AWS Marketplace.
How to subscribe
You must use an AWS account that can subscribe to a product on the AWS Marketplace. You cannot complete the steps if the AWS account does not have permission to subscribe via AWS Marketplace. Please check the permissions on the AWS account before proceeding.
If this is your first time subscribing, you can also select the Free Trial.
Click [Subscribe].
Click [Set up your account].
Enter the email address and password once you are transferred to the WafCharm Console's registration page.
Click [Sign up].
Check the confirmation email sent to your email address.
Click on the [Confirm] link in the confirmation email.
Registration is complete if the page with the message "Email address has been successfully verified" shows up.
Your account registration will not be complete unless you confirm your email address. Please complete this step and proceed.
Click [Sign in] to sign in to the WafCharm Console.
Enter your account information.
Please read the terms of service and check the [Please check if you have read and agree to the Terms of service and the other policies] checkbox.
Click [Save].
How to unsubscribe
Sign in to the AWS management console.
Access AWS Marketplace Subscriptions.
Open [Manage subscriptions].
Click [Manage] under the [WafCharm for AWS Marketplace (Subscription)].
Click [Action] and choose [Cancel subscription].
Once you complete the steps above, WafCharm will process the cancellation using the information received.
Notes
WafCharm for AWS Marketplace is a pay-as-you-go system.
If you are using WafCharm for AWS Marketplace, billing does not begin when the subscription is completed on the AWS Marketplace. Billing begins at the following times:
Basic Hourly Usage ($1.2/h)
Billing begins when you complete the account information registration, such as name, company name, and telephone number, after signing in to the WafCharm Console.
Number of configured Web ACL in WafCharm ($0.14/h)
Billing begins when the WafCharm configuration, such as WAF Config registration, is completed. This is billed based on the number of WAF Configs.
If you click the [Try for free] button or select the Free Trial under the Available offers, you can use WafCharm with a free trial plan.
The free trial can be used only once on one AWS account.
The free trial period is 30 days.
To switch from the free trial to a paid plan, you must re-subscribe to the paid plan. Once the free trial period ends, the plan does not automatically switch to the paid plan.
A 21-day grace period begins from the free trial (30 days) end date. You can continue to use the WafCharm account you created during the free trial if you subscribe to the paid plan within the 21-day grace period.
Once the 21-day grace period ends, all configurations, such as WAF Configs, will be deleted. If you wish to subscribe to the paid plan, you must re-subscribe with a paid plan, re-create a WafCharm account, and re-register all configurations.
You can use the same email address you used in the past to re-create your WafCharm account.
About the paid plan subscriptions
The types of paid plan subscriptions are as follows.
1. Subscribing with a Private Offer from CSC or AWS consulting partner (reseller).
2. Subscribing with the paid plan directly from the AWS Marketplace.
3. Subscribing with a Private Offer from Solution Provider.
Subscriptions from both 1. Subscribing with a Private Offer from CSC or AWS consulting partner (reseller) and 2. Subscribing with the paid plan directly from the AWS Marketplace can be used continuously without additional steps.
Subscriptions from 3. Subscribing with a Private Offer from the Solution Provider requires updating the subscription at the preconfigured subscription end date. To update the subscription, please re-subscribe using a Private Offer provided by your Solution Provider. If you do not re-subscribe using the Private Offer provided by your Solution Provider, your paid plan will be automatically updated with the public paid plan.
