Configuring two-factor authentication (2FA)

Overview

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a feature that allows you to further strengthen the security of your WafCharm account by entering an “authentication code” that is only valid for a certain period of time in addition to your email address (login ID), password, and reCAPTCHA when you log in.

Two-factor authentication using Google Authenticator is available for all WafCharm accounts.

How to setup

  1. Install Google Authenticator from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Sign in to the WafCharm console.
  3. Click on the user name in the upper right corner of the screen.
  4. Click [Account].
  5. Click the [2FA Configuration] button.
  6. Scan the QR code displayed below the following message: "Please scan the QR code with your smartphone."

    If you cannot scan the QR code, enter the details shown on the screen into the Google Authenticator.

  7. Enter the verification code shown on the Google Authenticator into the [Verification Code] field.
  8. Click [Verify].
  9. Save the backup codes.

How to sign in with 2FA enabled

  1. Open WafCharm console.
  2. Enter your email address and password on the sign in page.
  3. Click [Sign in].
  4. Enter the verification code provided by Google Authenticator into the [Verification Code] field.
  5. Click [Verify].

If you cannot use your verification code, click on the [Verify with backup code] button and use your 16-digit backup code.

How to disable 2FA

  1. Install Google Authenticator from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Sign in to the WafCharm console.
  3. Click on the user name in the upper right corner of the screen.
  4. Click [Account].
  5. Click the [2FA Configuration] button.
  6. Click [Disable 2FA].
  7. Click [OK] on the "Are you sure you can to disable 2FA?" pop-up.

How to check if 2FA is enabled

  1. Sign in to the WafCharm console.
  2. Click on the user name in the upper right corner of the screen.
  3. Click the [Member Setting] button.
  4. Check that the [2FA Settings] column is marked as [Enabled].

    If the 2FA setting is not enabled, the [2FA Settings] column is marked as [Disabled].

If you cannot sign in

If you cannot use both verification code and backup codes and are unable to sign in, please contact the WafCharm support team from the link below with an email address of your WafCharm account.
