Overview
Enabling a WAF log alert in the WAF Config sends a detection notification email. To change the email addresses that receive the notification or stop receiving it, please see the steps below.
How to change the email addresses
Steps to change your email addresses are the same regardless of the rule policy.
- Sign in to the WafCharm console.
- Click [WAF] from the left menu.
- Click on the target WAF Config.
- Click the [Log and Notification Configuration] tab.
- Click the [Edit] button.
- Click the [WAF log alert] tab.
- Edit the email addresses registered under the [E-mail address for notification].
- Click the [Add] button.
How to stop the notification
For AWS WAF v2 Advanced rule policy
- Sign in to the WafCharm console.
- Click [WAF] from the left menu.
- Click on the target WAF Config.
- Click the [Log and Notification Configuration] tab.
- Click the [Edit] button.
- Click the [WAF log alert] tab.
- Uncheck the [Use WAF log alerts] checkbox.
- Click the [Add] button.
For AWS Classic/AWS WAF v2 Legacy rule policy
- Sign in to the WafCharm console.
- Click [WAF] from the left menu.
- Click on the target WAF Config.
- Click the [Log and Notification Configuration] tab.
- Click the [Edit] button.
- Click the [WAF log alert] tab.
- Switch between the ON/OFF options shown under the [WAF log alert config].
- WafCharm Email Notification
- This is an option to switch the notification detection between ON and OFF. If you choose ON, notifications are sent via email when WAF logs are detected (count or block). If you choose OFF, notifications will not be sent even if you have WAF log retrieval enabled.
- Managed Rule Email Notification
- This feature is only available if you use our Managed Rule with WafCharm for AWS WAF Classic.
- This feature is not available for AWS WAF v2, so choose OFF.
- Click the [Add] button.
